Why is fundraising mentioned on Napa Lit?
Napa Valley is fortunate in having many fundraising events of substantial proportion.
Each of those events is worthy of our support. In order for those events to occur,
someone has had to do some reading and writing. In other words, being able to read
and to write are the basis of successful daily lives, in Napa County, California,
the US and in fact, all over the world.
In contrast to those fundraising events of ”substantial proportion”, this one small
web site can be supported by small donations from many Napa Valley residents. If
many households donate $15.00, and businesses or associations donate $100.00 each,
it won’t take long to reach the $5000.00 we believe we need. The costs of starting
the web site to keep Napa County residents informed of where there are literacy-supporting
events are not huge, but are not minor either.
Use of the web site is free to all. Our community will be an even more wonderful
place to live if all residents are able to live their lives to the fullest. You
are invited to donate to its support. If you can’t donate, please use the site to
become more literate, and donate when you can.
